The Encinitas Field is a semi-private field that is the home to our club’s F3L Thermal Duration Contests as well as general TD fun flying in North County. There is plenty of room on this field for 3 bungee hi-starts for launching and 3 landing strips. Wind is usually out of the west (check field weather here), so stake your hi-starts on the west end of the field. You are also welcome to hand launch your DLGs. No electric launch is allowed.
This field is the site of the old Encinitas city landfill. Access is limited to our club and the city, so most of the time it is completely open for flying with some restrictions that club members must follow to maintain our flying privileges. TPG members will receive a key which opens the two locked gates. The field has plenty of parking, a picnic table, and a porta-potty.
